Hi all,
So my, nearly 7 year old, daughter has reached a point where we can no longer attribute her uniqueness to just personality/starting school etc.
I strongly suspect ASD, her neurologist (she has epilepsy) has suspicions as does her S&Lt (she has a stutter). We had a referral to CAHMS for anxiety and obsessiveness and they’ve advised an anxiety course and a parenting course and then join the ASD pathway. A pathway that could take 3-5 years!!
I really hope a diagnosis would lead to help with social skills, social communication, compartmentalising everything and loads of other stuff! She’s currently in her second primary school and I really want this one to work out - in the last one she was terribly vulnerable, bullied and would spend large amount of time by herself.
I just don’t think she can wait 3-5 years so I am thinking about taking out a loan to pay for Lorna Winh Centre!
How was your experience there? What questions did they ask? How many interviews/sessions do they have with children?
