A new behaviour!!....humming?!

Today, Dd has been very worked up and lively, verbal diarrhoea! Something new I noticed today though was an unusual humming. Not just normal humming of a tune, but like a monotonous, drone of a hum.

She is being assessed for High Functioning Autism, has sensory issues and I sometimes also suspect ADHD, although she can often mask and hold it together at school.

Anyone know anything about this or experienced it at all?!

Thanks.

I guess it could be a tic or self soothing stim?

I appreciate girls present differently to boys with ASD and can mask at school. I’ve also read same can be said of ADHD??

DD has been bouncing off walls since 5am, she hums occasionally and saw her click her fingers too. We are often tired as she just doesn’t stop! Perhaps just part of her HFA, I don’t know...

Ds has HFA and whistles and hums when a bit anxious. We just ignore it now !
