Blocked noses

C keeps waking at night and crying because her nose is blocked. She has a slight cold. I've tried Olbas oil but it doesn't work and once she wakes she cries for hours (she's 3). Never had thjis problem with the older 3, they just breathed through their mouths but C doesn't seem to 'get it'.
Any tips?

aw bless her, what abot giving her a warm bath with olbas oil in before bed, or maybe one of them vicks things you put up your nose and sniff?

It's the start of the hayfever season you know, so possibly it's allergy related.

Can you use vicks ona 3 yo. She has epilepsy. The americans have a saline spary thingy. We got that here?

Bobalinga what about oneof those vaporiser humidifiers that you put in the room. I think they cost between £20 and £30 and I have a friend who used one for her ds and said it worked really well.

You could try medised (check with the paed first because of the whole sedatives-with-epilepsy question) because it does dry up mucus. It's the antihistamine in it that does this, so worth going to the GP and investigating the allergy route because even if that's not the cause you may get less snot!

You can get saline drops here though I haven't seen a spray. You drip them up the nose. I've found them completely useless tbh but it may vary from nose to nose...

I'll get some otrivine when the shops re-open on Tuesday. Don't think its an allergy, just a mild cold. She's like me, can't sleep with a blocked nose but unlike me, she yells about it for hours!
I don't recall this with the older three but then they could sit up and move about which helps blocked noses or play quietly if they couldn't get back to sleep.
