EHCP draft, is this right?

Hello, my Dd is due to start school in September. She’s summer born so she’s still only 3. We managed to get an assessment for her & the LA is currently writing up a draft plan. The lady who i spoke to said that I will receive it through the post the day before the meeting. Is this right? Our postman sometimes skips our road & doubles up the next day so I may not even see it until the meeting! I would’ve liked to of had a chance to go through it with my DH in private, I also have a friend that is quite knowledgeable in EHCP’s so it would’ve been a great help for her to give it a read & give some pointers. So now I’m panicking because I feel as though in the meeting I will forget to add something important or realise that something should’ve been stated in there. I feel a bit out of my depth as I don’t know what to make sure is written down. Could any give me any advice? Thank you 😊

Hi. If that is the first time you have seen the draft plan, you should have 15 days to provide comments to the L.A.

Have you checked out your local sendiass provision? It's a statutory advice service for parents going through the EHCP process. Google "your borough sendiass" and it should appear, or find your LA's Local Offer webpage and it should be there.

SOS SEN also offer checks on EHCP drafts.

SOSSEN.org.uk are your best bet or IPSEA.org.uk too
