ASD kids meet up central London

Hi, my son is five and a half years old and has a autism diagnosis, "high functioning". He goes to mainstream school and has a part time one to one TA, he enjoys school and loves learning.
I would like to start my own "social club" for my son, who is very sociable and would love to meet new friends who won't think him a bit “strange".
We live in Central London, please let me know if you are in the same situation and would be interested to meet for play dates.
Thank you

Sounds like a lovely idea! DD is only 3 so probably a bit young for your son to find interesting, but following with interest in case the age range widens a bit!

Agree that it is a lovely idea. My son is 9 with a similar diagnosis and would love to make some friends as he is feeling very isolated at school. I will follow too in case the age range widens.

Are there more children with an ASD diagnosis at school? My son has a social group of children from his year at school (about 5 of them) who Minecraft together. They all have an ASD diagnosis or are in the process.

SpringerLink I don't know the answer to that. His old school had a social group which he attended when he was younger but I don't know if this one does. He is high functioning and although he wants to be friends with other kids in his class he is always on the outside of the group. Like the OP, I would love for him to find some friends he can really gel with.

I'm very interested, I have a ASD daughter 4.3 years, whom is very social too. Would love to widen her social circle ( or actually have one lol) I gave up FT work recently to dedicate some time to her so we are very flexible :-)
