Toilets - ear defenders?

Hi all,
Does anyone have little ones anxious about any noise in toilets? Obv hand dryers but we go to disabled to combat that, however it can be any noise the toilet makes/air freshener going off etc. Do you think ear defenders can help?

Where have you found ear defenders useful Dd has sensory struggles/behaviour and is under assessment for ASD. (Hf)

Any ear def recs appreciated! Thank you.

Hi,

I know this will sound a bit daft but have you ruled out if it maybe anxiety of using toilets rather than the noises that are in there?

My DD uses ear defenders while we are out as she struggles, I honestly can't rate them highly enough, they make the world of difference for her.

Ear defenders made a huge difference to my DD’s wellbeing, especially around days out and public toilets.

She’s 6 now and rarely asks for them but we always have them with us just in case Smile

I think it’s definitely the noise and risk of anything sudden (someone trying door handle, auto air freshener going off etc) Thanks, I’ve ordered some Edz Kidz ear defenders! Fingers crossed.

When do you tend to use them?

DD mainly uses hers when I know there is going to be a crowd of people, shopping, cinema, parties. She will sometimes wear them at school but is becoming more aware about other pupils so she would rather suffer and have a meltdown at home than wear them at school. Sometimes just even when her cousins are at her nannies, she put them on then.

As soon as I see a change in her behaviour, I make her put them on and 9 times out of 10 she is calm again within 5 mins x
