Hi all,
Just wondering, I read there can be a link between ASD and early puberty? Anyone experienced this? Dd is 6 and has Hosp referral for further investigation after developing around chest area, quite rapidly.

Starting to freak out a little as have read this can be caused by a tumour. Worst case scenario. Best case is idiopathic Thelarche (Dr mentioned this) - early breast development.

I know they sometimes do MRI at Hosp. Is this the scan that makes a loud banging sound? - Obv Dd is sensitivity to noise (sensory issues) and v anxiously

Yes, MRI can be noisy (and is a bit claustrophobic as you go into a tube thing). They must do lots of MRIs for people on the spectrum - would be worth calling them if she does need one and seeing how they can accommodate? What is the next step: have you got a date for your hospital referral yet?

Its not going go be quick I'm afraid, in my area the wait for an appointment is on average 90days from referral.

Oh my goodness, that's so long!

Have you also been referred for a hand X-ray to check bone age?
Our paediatrician arranged that at the same time as the endocrinologist referral, that appointment came through quicker.

It is scary, and hard not to think of worst case scenario, but you will get answers.
