Apparently Adhd should come under autistic spectrum

I went to a very interesting talk yesterday with our asd outreach team who work for the lea.
They were saying how they are seeing more and more similarities between children with asd and children with Adhd (my dd has both) and that they feel they should both come under the term asd. Even dyspraxia should be. I didn't realise that over 80% of children with AS will also have dyspraxia too.
In my borough alone on the list for the outreach team are over 300 children with asd. I was quite shocked by that and apparently many many more not getting help or just not getting the diagnosis.

It's an interesting topic IMO. I've posted on here before about how ds1 fits the criteria for dyspraxia but his actual dx is HFA. Ds2 OTOH is almost the exact opposite and has the agility of a cat. Ds2 is certainly bordering on hyperactive. He has spent so much of his life running, jumping, climbing, and doing headstands that he is now very muscular. Ds1 is the opposite and there are days when only a cattle prod would be able to get him moving.

Interestingly I remember the OT telling me that they use sensory integration therapy as a means of waking some of the children up and as a means of calming other children down.

I went on a course recently about DCD and it is very closley entwined with ADHD but they usually only get one diagnosis.(the one that causes the most problems)

BIg overlap is the sensory issues , very hard touch or those who can't stand evene the lightest touch.
