I'm on a 'green' email list and we've been dicussing a car free lifestyle. There's a woman who says she can't cycle cos she has bad knees so she takes a bus. One of the guys then laid intoher citing various paraplegics and people with MS who cycle and do triathlons and what have you. So I pointed out that not all disabled people can do that, in the same way not all able bodies can run marathons and cited my daughter who has quad CP with no limb movment and is blind. His answer.....my daughter doesn't try hard enough!
These stories of inspiring disabled people is starting to look like a burden to me. This guy is an arse and I'm just so cross at his level of ignorance I don't quite know what to say. He reckons everyone can cycle and those who don't are evil polluting selfish etc etc
Any advice on how to put him in his place?
He is a dick too, once sugested that over population was the main problem and so the elderly and disabled should be culled (except, I gather, the ones that are out there cycling!)
