What happens when attendance gets too bad?

My dd (year 8) has ASD. She dislikes school and often refuses to go. If I force the issue, she becomes violent.

I am pretty sure there is no real problem at school, she just doesn't enjoy the learning and the routines. She actually prefers it if they go off-timetable, or there is something different happening.

Her attendance this year is 55%. The other days she has been late, or not gone at all.
My question is - what is likely to happen next at school?
I went in last week to try and speak to someone, and they promised the SENCO would call me by wednesday to arrange a meeting. It all seems so slow.

thanks zzzz.
The school doesn't seem bothered by it at the moment. I was wondering how long they leave it until doing something.
