...Popped to the Shops with Ellie as the shoes I had got them didn't fit!

Haven't took her shopping for ages, but we tried it, were not too long and got there before the shops had even opened lol

Havent used her major buggy for ages, and had forgotton all the stares and double looks it and Ellie got

I know most are staring as they are not sure what the buggy is, but what if Ellie understood that people were staring?

My own fault really, I should just walk and chat to ellie instead of chatting to her and staring at others as soon as they look

and she wouldnt understand that people were staring but lots would

Sometimes I stare at other parents with their disabled children because my son is disabled and I feel like I can relate to them and just want to go up and talk to them. So maybe some of the stares you got were other parents who felt sympathetic to your cause because they are in the same boat.
The staring never goes. I walk down the street with a wide grin and a proud feeling in my stomach because I love my son soooooo much .
Be proud

I always tell dd it is because she is beautiful. dh tells them to f* off and ds tells them she doesn't fancy them.

lol at your ds two shoes......

i usually meet their stares with a raised eyebrow as if to say - and your problem is?!?!

i guess the positive is that at this stage ellie doesn't understand so you can tell her something like twoshoes does - they are looking at her cause she is so gorgeous.

I go through phases of being angry about stares cos DD will know that peple are starring. I tell her its cos she's ginger!

your kids sound great fun 2shoes. I have to admit to looking at a kid who has obvious SN but as I have worked at the 2 local SN school and in the adult servies I look because I usually know them! Then of course I say hello anyway so its not just gawping!

anniebear · 08/04/2007 14:30

I suppose I may look if I see an SN buggy , in case it is some one I know also!!!

But it isnt an obvious stare, some people look, then take another look and stare!

I suppose the very quick glance isnt too bad, its the ones that really gawp at her !

You do get the gawpers who heads swivel to keep your child in view as they walk. Those are the really annoying ones!
One woman walked intoa tree while gawping at C. haw haw haw

unussual buggies def get stares and comments. I'm not counting anymore. Boy has a CTS chariot. the best comments are from teenage boys who think its cool or mad. most annoying are from old bids interfering as I'm changing the wheels from trailer mode to buggy mode. I suspect we will get some SN type stares as it does look a little wheelchairish with its huge rear wheels and small front ones.

well i no longer make eye contact with other parents when we are out and about, frankly i cannot be bothered with all their stupidity (i am just about to start another post about that so dont worry i wont hijack this one)

they are not worth worrying about anniebear: remember, it's not what they think of you and ellie, it's what you and ellie think of them!
