My son is 2 and a half. He has development delay particularly in relation to his physical development and speech. This is being investigated by a paediatrician and he is on the waiting list for speech therapy. He has been awarded the medium rate of DLA. My friend stated that he could get 15 hours free childcare because he gets dla however i am unsure if this is correct? Both myself and my husband work full time and we aren't entitled to any tax credits cos our earnings are to high. Are we entitled to any childcare?

Yes you can access 15 hours free childcare from the age of 2 when you receive DLA. Either contact a local nursery and see if they offer places to 2 year olds or contact the LA who will recommend nurseries.

We applied through the private nursery he was already attending.

Only thing is it doesn't start until the beginning of the next term (that's what our LA told us) so you may not be able to get a place until January.
