Hello

I was just wondering if I could have some advice please, DS suffers from bad anxiety I am not getting any help or support from anyone, does anyone else here have a child that suffers from anxiety?

I was thinking of private therapy sessions for him, he is nearly 6 years old. Do you think it would be something that he would benefit from?

Thanks Flowers

What sort of things is your DS anxious of ?

I watched a programme, where a family had a young teenage boy who suffered with quite severe anxiety. They trialled anxiety medication but it didn't work.

I know nothing about anxiety but ! I had huge anxiety issues in my late teens. The more I avoided, whatever was causing my extreme anxiety... the more anxious I got.

Facing...whatever was causing the anxiety and taking small bite size steps to do this, seemed to have lessoned my anxiety. However ! It was extremely difficult !

I'm not sure if there's a sort of therapy, at your DS age, which will helps with anxiety. Only Art therapy springs to mind but then again, I know very little about art therapy.

Just looked online.

Cognitive behavioural therapy is also something you can explore with your DS.

Morning @notgivingin789 he gets very anxious when it is time to leave the house and he is even more anxious when we are out, meaning we can't stay out for long.

Have a look at Human Givens therapy. It worked well for me and I'm keeping it as an option for DS in the future

Thanks @tartanterror I did some research and I managed to book an appointment for DS.
