Our 11 year old has always been hyper and rather underweight. Since starting Intuniv he has gained weight. He looks healthy to me but getting some abdominal fat. Should I be concerned or is this normal for this age ? Hubby has said to me should we stop him having desserts. He eats healthily and is very active. Taekwondo twice a week, indoor climbing, swimming and playing outside with friends

If he's getting a bit of a gut perhaps chnange desserts to fruit etc.

I had all dc on high calorie diet due to eldest meds and his weight but my younger children started to pile on the weight. So went back to less calorie rich meals and just added oil etc to eldest.

Perhaps his appetite isn't as suppressed and is eating more? Or could he be bloated?

My DD was on Intuniv (not any more as we didn't like some of the side effects) but she definitely put on a lot of weight on these meds which I saw as a side effect of the meds.
