Should I claim dla? Now or later?

I have had problems with dd for a good few years. It's only recently that I have started the ball rolling to get some help. We have seen the GP just the once. I understand that when claiming dla there does not have to be a diagnosis. But I'm thinking they may contact my go. Would I be better to wait until my go knows more about our situation and there is a bit more on record before I make a dla claim?

I would wait until you have seen some specialists so they can contact them and you can send in the paperwork with your letter.
It's not about diagnosis but anyone can write in and say 'blah blah blah' and there want the names and contact details so they can contact people or they will want evidence to back up your claim.

I filled in the whole form, sent in an extra 7page statement and OT reports, speech therapy reports, educational phycologist assessment, a letter from the HV, his targets at Pre school and assessments from them (he was alreadybgetting a full time 1:1) basically showing he wasn't potty trained or didn't follow instructions.

Thank you. That what I was thinking to.

The form is approx 44 pages back and front so I wouldn't bother filling it in at the moment, it takes ages!
