I feel terrible

I love my DS (2 1/2) so much. I am so so bored. We are currently going through the process of seeing whether he is on the spectrum. I literally just feel like I am there to make sure he doesn't kill himself some how. If I try to interact with him and play with him he generally just gets another toy and plays by himself. He doesn't like anything creative, or messy. I feel like I'm waffling but I feel so confused and lost.

This is a good book that might be helpful for you. Some of it might seem obvious but it has some nice ideas that I found it useful when DS was little:

Playing, Laughing and Learning with Children on the Autism Spectrum, Second Edition: A Practical Resource of Play Ideas for Parents and Carers https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1843106086/ref=cmswwrcppapi_UH3Gzb8RTQSCG
