Dla claim times

Hi just wondering if anyone's recently applied for dla and how long the claim took? This is our first claim, and they received it on the 20th of July, just phoned and they said it's waiting to be looked at. Loads of people have said they had an award within a couple of weeks but doesn't look like I'll be that lucky! It's for my two year old with gdd diagnosis and pica.

Hi OP

Our claim was received on 6 July and we're still waiting.....

They said 8 weeks, so that's what we've set ourselves to expect!

Mine took 3 weeks and I applied in feb, was seriously quick.

Our recent renewal took 12 weeks but first time claims seem to be being dealt with more quickly (we still heard back before the end of the previous award).

Throgglesprocket is yours a new claim or a renewal? Have you had any contact from them at all? I received a letter today stating they had received the claim pack on July 20th, and if they need any more info they'll be in touch. I sent reports and things so hoping that's enough!

We had a text and then a letter confirming receipt. It is our first claim, no formal diagnosis for DD as yet but lots of supporting documentation regarding appts and referrals.

Ours took 4 weeks, only got a text to say they received our documents. The first payment went into the bank before we received any paperwork.

Received our first payment yesterday and the paperwork today. MRC and LRM.Smile

Took about 3-4 weeks with us. If you rang for a form to be sent to you, I think they will back date to the date you rang them!
