DS having a smearing and eating phase at the moment and even though I am used to handling poo (washable nappies etc) I feel dispairing. There's something about it that gets to me in a way that none of his other unsociable behaviours do, I guess with most things he does I can see a reason behing them but I can't see the attraction in this.
I have tried telling myself that it is about awareness and a step on the way to eventual potty training but bottom line is I just feel miserable.
can you help?

once or twice a day, He's so quick, I keep a close eye on him as he has no sense of danger but I only need to go out of sight to see to one of the others and there he is, covered. I have to stick him in the shower when he's in a real mess but am not sure about this as he loves showers but it's the only way to get him cleaned up.
