Hi, I have a son who has asd along with many associated issues. He's been allocated a year 2 class starting September with 2 part time teachers. Normally I wouldn't be worried, for my other children for example who are neurotypical but is this likey to be detrimental for him given he is already struggling? Advice/experiences needed! Thanks

All I can suggest is asking for their timetable, so you can show dc who is teaching on what day, for them to warn you of any planned changes (they may swap days if they're covering sick for example, which cannot be predicted) and put every concern and comment in writing to the school.

Eg: "as you are aware, dc struggled to get into school today due to the unplanned/uninformed change to the timetable yesterday. While I understand it cannot alway be helped, please appreciate that the nature of their asd means they aren't always able to understand".

I've taken to emailing out school an awful lot. Just for my own peace of mind that when ds1 falls apart they can't say they weren't aware of the signs.
