Feel as though we make DH unhappy

My H is so grumpy these days. Our DD (who has some struggles and poss hfs/Aspergers) drives him crazy. He's a great Dad most of the time but is very moody recently and has little patience.

He can't stand our cat!

He hates our house and everything in it!

I feel as though I irritate him.

He used to be so happy and laid back. He gave up smoking a few years ago and has always been on the grumpier side ever since. He was only a very light smoker.

He has quite a busy job and gets very tired, as we all do.

I feel as though we don't make him happy and he always looks stressed and miserable, especially at home, better out and about. It's not sensible for us to move house currently and DD is a challenge. The cat is crazy! We don't have enough storage. These things niggle me but they seem to make him miserable.

Is he getting a bit depressed? Would he talk to a GP - maybe take anti-depressants, do counselling or CBT? I feel quite like how he does at the moment and in the past anti-depressants really helped. They made me able to enjoy day to day things whereas as previously I was irritable and everything seemed grey and pointless.

I feel a little like that myself and I feel he is a little depressed too. We are trying to battle through. I have mentioned it to him and when he had a Doctor's appointment about another matter, suggested he should talk to them about it. We have a friend who anti depressants have helped greatly. He just brushed it off.
