SPD - where to find advice

An acquaintance is concerned that her primary age child is very sensitive to noise. He has had his ears / hearing checked by ENT and they have found nothing wrong. My ds had ASD and she has noticed that he sometimes wears ear defenders and asked me if they seem to help.
Where is the best place to signpost her for advice on SPD - most of the info I have read is from a co morbid ASD perspective.

I'd say the Out of Sync Child is a good place to start.

It's such a shame that SPD isn't yet recognised as a diagnosis in its own right

My ds was diagnosed with SPD before his AS dx, so it can happen!

I really like the book 'Too Loud Too Bright Too Fast Too Tight' which was written by a psychologist who developed SPD after a brain injury so she has insight of typical sensory processing too.
