We've got Intellikeys but I haven't got a clue how to use it properly! Another summer project ho hum. It was supposed to be implemented in our home prog (we've had it for abotu 3 years) but no-one consistently got to grips with it. Let me know what you find out...... sorry!

ooh ok davros. I'm going to ring Inclusive technology this morning. I typed autism and intellikeys into google this morning and came up with quite a bit. DS1 is soooooo into computers I'm wondering whether it could be a real way of teaching with him- as I don't have to fight to gain, and maintain attention when something is on the computer.....

Inclusive technology said to leave intellikeys for a bit. Which is good as have just bought some software and a roller ball- and vene with VAT expemption it cost a fortune. Did manage to get ds1 signed up for some research they are doing so he gets to try out software Also found something very interesting- you can return good within 100 days if they are no good. So may try out the intellikeys sometime......

Some good sites I have come across as part of my literacy/computer plan for the summer holidays.

adaptedstories.com/AdaptedStories/home/home.asp

www.creativecommunicating.com/

www.intellitools.com/Activity_Exchange/home.htm

Sorry can't be bothered to do links. They're worth pasting though.

Excellent! I dug the thing out of the cupboard today with a view.......

A lot of the free stuff doesn't need an intellikeys keyboard either- been trying some out- I reckon with a keyboard it'll be ideal and he should be able to access it himself.... I can see this month is going to be expensive (sigh).

Of course, this is just the kind of stuff that you can get grants etc for but don't ask me where! Didn't someone post something the other day?

Jimjams · 17/07/2004 13:30

Unless they take into account our debts/overdraft though we're usually above the earning threshold for these things.... Not sure whether that's or I did try and look up that grant thing but wouldn't work on this computer. Thanks for jogging my memory though as I will try with the laptop tonight.
