Assessment criteria?

I wonder if anyone can help. My son has a dx of asd (6), he behind academically but is very socialable, has friends and I guess his autism doesn't seem obvious.
So I wanted to get his ADOS score or at least some notes from his assessment so I can explain to people what his difficulties are. So after lots of calls I've been told there was no score and that I can not have a copy of the notes.
Ok so perhaps I'm chasing something I don't need as he has a diagnosis and that seems to be what people want however I would like to see why he has autism, what difficulties he presents with etc. I know for sure my son will ask me this when he is older.
Am I being unreasonable to want this? What does everyone else have in way of a diagnosis report?

I'm surprised all you got was a dx. I got that with the appendices of which areas he ticked and a narrative of the ados and what his responses showed and advice on support.

I'm sure you are legally entitled to access medical records.

With DS1 they wouldn't give me the ADOS information, though I did get a fairly comprehensive diagnosis report which detailed some of the specifics.

I've just got DS3's dx report through, it's not as detailed but again has some examples. I'm going to ask for his ADOS scores and see if they will give them to me this time.

I only got a diagnosis letter. Apart from the ed psych report which I paid private for. I asked for salt report but paediatrician said she had mapped directly onto medical notes so I couldn't see

What led you to get a diagnosis?

Are you aware of any differences or difficulties that he is compared to other children his age either in school or at home? Some children appear very socialble but their interactions may not be ''normal'' when you look more closely.

I got a very detailed report from a psychologist for my DS enclosing copies of Physio, OT and S&L reports. They're very comprehensive but to be honest I cam see what DS difficulties are from dealing with him everyday.

I managed to get an appointment and they went through the assessment and gave me a score. I found it really useful to see where they saw his difficulties and also what the diagnostic criteria is. It's good to understand where he is in the spectrum and hear about positives. I know what his difficulties are and he is a little different but I needed to understand exactly what they were, for example he talks a lot about topics without really thinking about his audience and the listener. He is very rigid if he doesn't want to do something but he can give eye contact, show empathy and hold a conversation if he needs to.
I think we all have different ways of coping and somehow having a score and seeing it in paper helped me!
