I want to pullout my son from mainstream school as I believe they are failing him-too many detentions.. What are my rights and then what are the next few steps as I do not want to get into trouble?

You will not get into trouble, are you going to put him in another school? or home educate? My son has been told if he doesnt write properly next year he will get kept in.................................

No EHCP it was denied over tribunal but we were ahead of ourselves as we are only going through diagnosis now. His levels are too high for specialist provision but I think he can't cope with high classroom numbers.

I deregistered my DC from school recently for similar reasons and home school now. Life is a lot calmer now.
You have to send a letter to the head requesting that they deregister him from the school roll, the head then informs the Local Authority who will likely write to you to see what education you are providing, but they us usually give you about 12 weeks to sort it. School is not compulsory but education is but what education you provide is up to you.
