DD and nursery

hello everyone, been offline for a few days due to moving house.

We asked our independant psych to go into DD,s nursery to observe her as the SENCO is disputing what the Paed is saying about DD,s difficulties.

He said that she basically imitates the other children and theres little evidence of imitation and that she needs more structure.

so i gave the nursery a copy of his report and at the end of yesterday the SENCO handed it back to me and said "What is THAT".

The Autism outreach team have been in and observed DD and while they accept that she does have difficulty with language, they say she interacts well with other children and shows imagination.

The independent psych is the expert accredited by the NAS and he says no, she is showing definate signs of ASD.

The SENCO is really getting on my nerves and yesterday very patronisingly said "you DO know that the ASD lady cannot dx dont you" she is soooo patronising, ive obviously peed her off big style because ive gone over her head.
So now we are in the same situation as we were with DS and his school, they refusing to accept that he had ASD and blaming it on me.

We have a meeting on 30th march and our psych is going and im dreading it because i dont know how to tell them that im not impressed and that im not accepting their "wait and see attitude" or "The tests are the problem-not DD".
Any advice anyone?

Not all children on the spectrum lack imagination anyway.

Why on earth does the SENCO think she is better qualified than the Paed?

this SENCO is so patronising its unreal.
The last meeting she talked over me and said it was the tests that were at fault and that DD doesnt have a language delay.
I was ill that day and didnt have the strength to argue with her but its been bugging me ever since and yesterday when she did that has just made it worse.

I was starting to think that maybe i was the one with a problem with DD and that others were right but then the CDC report agreed and Our psych agrees, (he,s coming to the next meeting thank goodness-he doesnt take any crap from anyone) but she just wont have it and now the autism outreach teacher is agreeing with the SENCO, to me that says that she,s not experienced enough to spot DD,s traits which are very high functioning but there all the same.
Thats a very good statement CT, i might just have to use that in the next meeting, "erm excuse me but i thought that SENCO,s were,nt as QUALIFIED as Paeds"

Our psych will talk me out of it when i tell him what i want to say but it makes me giggle thinking of her face if i did say it all the same
