The following might be useful for any other family awaiting a consultant's appointment and being refused LA ed support while your child is too poorly for school in Notts.
"Where it is the case that we receive a GP letter which contains a direct request for HRET involvement with specific reasons given why the young person is not medically fit to attend school and will not be for an extended period of time whilst awaiting a consultant /or comm paed appointment we would ask school to arrange a multi-agency meeting to which the GP would be invited to discuss and plan appropriate support. This support would be considered on an individualised basis and it may be agreed that it is HRET direct support or it may be agreed it is provided by school"
We have contacted the GP, charities, school, the MP and others. Its very isolating and worrying, especially when nobody else seems to want to take your child's education seriously!
