Hi after being pushed from pillar to post and not getting anywhere I think we are going to have to go down the private route for educational psychologist.
Can anyone tell me the cost if they have used one privately?
Did the school accept the findings?
Can anyone recommend one in Manchester area?

Depending on the depth of assessment, anywhere between £300-£700. School might take notice, depending on the school but by law recommendations aren't the same as obligations so they might not! In our case we used it to request EHCP to secure necessary provision. Sorry, can't recommend anyone in your area but hopefully someone else will.

Thank you for reply. What is EHCP?

Education health care plan, it is the equivalent of what used to be called a statement

Our county won't accept a private report by an Ed Psych, it has to be done by the school. Except the school have no time or money and so will only assess those showing extreme behavioural issues or failing to meet expected levels.
