DLA or PIP

We've been advised by the hospital to apply for the DLA, only problem is that it's only available for under 16's then you have to apply for PIP.

Our daughter will be 16 on February 2nd. Is there any difference between the DLA and PIP and as she's not due to come out of hospital until after her 16th Birthday would we be able to apply for the DLA anyway?

You will need to apply for pip, dla is only awarded up to 16, as your DD is already 16 she would be transitioned to pip
