ASD and losing baby teeth!

Hi, seems like a daft question but how do other ASD children cope with losing baby teeth? My son is six soon and hasn't lost any yet BUT I am worried sick about when he does.

Because of his speech delay. I don't think he would understand if I spoke to him about it. He may end up swallowing them or maybe he will notice and he will freak out? I don't think he will be too impressed. I don't think he would understand the concept of the tooth fairy either.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi,
I'm not at the stage yet as my ds in nearly 5, but he loves peppy pig and I will watch the dentist and tooth fairy one with him to help him understand. Good luck

My DD is just 5 and has ASD. She's lost 2 already. The first one was a big surprise as we didn't realise it was wobbly! DD was a bit confused about it all but coped fine. The second one came out in a chocolate bar and was ingested!! Again, she wasn't too fazed.
