Ear defenders for cinema

DD has CP and enjoys the cinema but she is very jumpy at the sudden loud change in scenes/noise during the film. Can anyone recommend some ear defenders to reduce the noise but also allow her to follow/hear the film?
Is there even such a thing

My daughter uses them when we go to anything noisy - cinema, theatre and she wears them in class too.

We have a few pairs of these she can still hear what is going on but it dulls the loud sounds.
