My mornings NEVER start with "hello mum"....often i get woken by the sudden thud of hands banging on my pillow, or requests to go on the playstation or screams as they argue over the same programme on t.v...simply cos its 'their' turn and the other 'chose' the same programme and they end up fighting.

but today was the 'best' obscure start to a day i've had for ages!!!
tom (10 with asperger's) said:

"Did you know that George bush has 10 television screens?"

I said "NO....Why?"

He said "Because he has 10 cameras - each connected to their own screen so he can see everything from any angle"

He then sprung out of bed and did his usual wee all over the toilet and floor and walls (this is one of the worst things i'm dealing with at the moment....but that's another story)

Basically the night b4 i'd explained that at the Euro 2004 matches they have loads of tv cameras so that they can film shots at different angles....leigh and tome were asking about how replays are shown etc....so i can understand why he'd dreamt of cameras and T.v etc....but George Bush???? Tom has no interest in the News and Politics....but i guess he must subconciosly 'take it all in!'

Not sure about this morning but the last "conversation" (well as close as we get) with ds1 last night was truly bizarre.

Had put him to bed, when after about half and hour heard a load of thumping followed by screaming. Went up to him (with dh) and he was whacking his head on the window. Screaming and screaming. Put him into bed and he kept trying to jump right out (he has a cabin bed- quite a high one). Still screaming. could feel I was losing my temper (we've just had to swap rooms as he was unsafe in the old one - I'll be gutted if we have to take his bed away as well) so left the room. Went back into the room after counting to 50- he was back by the window still scremaing and occasioanlly thumping. Did a few "I want......" (pause) in the hope I could work out what the hell was going on. When he grabbed by hand- gestured towards the neighbours and said "ayan" (washing). So I can only assume they had taken their washing in, or had left their washing line up when they usually take it down or something. Anyway I said "bye bye washing" "washing all gone" and peace was restored.........

Truly bizarre.

DS2 comes in each morning tells me he dreamed about Thomas and he wants toast.

bluebear · 18/06/2004 12:36

Woken by "Screeeeeeaaaammm...mummmmmy...screeeeeaaammm...muuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmy..." repeated until dh picked up ds and put him on sofa with beaker of milk and video on; replaced by 'screeeeeeaaammm...no...screaaaaammmm...no " repeated ad infinitum for god knows what reason.
Ds doesn't do getting up in a good mood.

Dinosaur - the sausage conversation is very normal in this house..I think ds is NT..can you reassure me that NT children do this too (ds is 3..and a stroppy handful!)

lou33 · 18/06/2004 12:39

Don't think it means you can't contribute tho coddy /gloworm.

nikcola · 18/06/2004 12:47

dd(2.5) shouted at 8am MOM I WANT CHOCOLATE MILK NOW how nice

Branster · 18/06/2004 12:57

first words DD said to my this morning after she gave me a v strange look were
'I lost my daddy!'
DH usualy picks her up from her bed in the mornings and she couldn't quite understand what was i doing there all dressed up already (that was at 6.30am, i usaully don't get out of bed before 7.30-8 am). made me laugh...

Tommy · 18/06/2004 13:21

Snap Branster! I went into DS1's room at 7.30 and he said "No! Daddy!"
Makes you feel wanted doesn't it?!

maddiemo · 18/06/2004 17:15

Ds3 says the same thing every morning "juicey cup green apple." Ds4 bellows "Want mum" Ds1 & ds2 "wassamatter, gerrof."

Branster · 18/06/2004 17:21

yes Tommy, especially as you go in their room all smiles and are happy they wake up for once without screaming (in my case anyway). I'll let DH deal with it from now on
maddiemo who's gerrof ??

Tommy · 18/06/2004 17:25

Eulalia · 18/06/2004 19:50

Mrs F

dinosaur - my ds has a thing about sellotape too and plasters too. He bit his tongue recently and asked for a plaster for that.

Everying morning ds says "I need to go in that bed" [mine] and dd just says something incomprehensible as she's still not talking much. ds has the same routine every morning... except when we were on holiday.

AussieSim · 18/06/2004 20:03

Papa

wilbur · 18/06/2004 20:10

Ds was quite sweet - "I'm hiding" as he had nipped into my side of the bed while I was doing my teeth. Dd less sweet - I was greeted not by words but by acres of vomit, having already cleared up similar during the night.

strangerthanfiction · 18/06/2004 20:50

Dd chats to herself for a good while in the cot in the mornings. She says really odd things. Today she was saying 'hot ice lolly' over and over and giggling. She's 20 months. I thought it was quite a good 'joke' for that age!

carlyb · 18/06/2004 23:10

OMG!! I have just looked at that website 'the morbegs'. They look like zippy from rainbow after a nuclear fallout! that is a very odd programme, how they dont scare children is beyond me.

Chocol8 · 18/06/2004 23:13

My ds said "Oh! Good morning Mummy!" like he was surprised that I was there....strange considering I am the only person he sees every morning. Poor luv, me with out my slap on - urghhh!

marthamoo · 18/06/2004 23:16

"Drink Mummy, drink drink drink!"

So kind of him to think of my coffee fix in the morning.

mrsforgetful · 19/06/2004 12:11
