My mornings NEVER start with "hello mum"....often i get woken by the sudden thud of hands banging on my pillow, or requests to go on the playstation or screams as they argue over the same programme on t.v...simply cos its 'their' turn and the other 'chose' the same programme and they end up fighting.

but today was the 'best' obscure start to a day i've had for ages!!!
tom (10 with asperger's) said:

"Did you know that George bush has 10 television screens?"

I said "NO....Why?"

He said "Because he has 10 cameras - each connected to their own screen so he can see everything from any angle"

He then sprung out of bed and did his usual wee all over the toilet and floor and walls (this is one of the worst things i'm dealing with at the moment....but that's another story)

Basically the night b4 i'd explained that at the Euro 2004 matches they have loads of tv cameras so that they can film shots at different angles....leigh and tome were asking about how replays are shown etc....so i can understand why he'd dreamt of cameras and T.v etc....but George Bush???? Tom has no interest in the News and Politics....but i guess he must subconciosly 'take it all in!'

George Bush??

I was woken up by ds1 pulling at the duvet and giggling as he said "I will try not to get out of bed!" (quoting from his Social Stories). Mornings are not my best time so I'm ashamed to say I snapped back, "I will try not to throttle ds1!"

coppertop · 17/06/2004 23:33

Oh MrsF! If you're still around have a look at the order of the threads. At the moment we have:

Has Anyone seen mrsforgetful?
Very old incontinent cat.

What a welcome back!

(we live in a flat so we are all on one level and hear whats going on)

Piffleoffagus · 18/06/2004 09:02

maisystar · 18/06/2004 09:32

ds woke me up asking when we were going on the eurostar! (i told him we could go for a day trip to paris on the eurostar for his birthday in nov-that was before i realised it was £200 to go!)

Twinkie · 18/06/2004 09:38

During the week we nearly always have to wake dd up but at the weekends she comes up, gives me a kiss on the cheek and says "I love you mummy. I missed you while I was alseep". Aaaah. Makes it so hard to be cross with her, even if it is 6.30.

mrsforgetful · 18/06/2004 10:14

dinosaur! That is so funny.....reminds me of leigh's reaction to 'different' types of potatoes.....he can tell the different makes.....and though 'a chip is a chip' as far as he is concerned the textures vary between for eg. Maris piper and king edwards (YAWN!!!!) so.....at least 3 or 4 times a week we have this big discussion about how i cannot predict how a potatoe will tast/feel when it is cooked!!!!

However glad to say because i am prepared to have these chats with him....he does eat the offending articles!

Mummy, big wee wee. Winnie the Poo floor. Get down, Kitchen.

DD 21 months

Ghosty · 18/06/2004 10:33

DS (4.5 years old) ...
"I NEED A WEE ... AND IT'S TOO DARK TO GO ON MY OWN!"
DD
"SLURP SLURP SLURP" ... she is 4.5 months old and sucks her hands really loudly so I can hear her ...

carlyb · 18/06/2004 11:12

Every morning ds points down stairs and says 'thomas tank engine'. This equates to 'mummy i demand that you take me down stairs now and put on thomas the tank and if you dont I will scream non stop for an hour'!

Blooming thomas the blooming tank engine! curses to that blue engine and his grumpy engine friends! (yes i have gone quite mad thomas has made me loose my marbles)

codswallop · 18/06/2004 11:19

" cna I have a chocolate chop cookie"

it was 7am

mrsforgetful · 18/06/2004 11:34

carly- tell you what's worse is when at 6 leigh 'discovered' beyblades and bionicle and now playstation....and he completely overnight stopped playing/being/living/breathing Thomas the Tank....and then there's me who also played/been/lived/breathed it for 4 years and now i am lost! I have lost my 'cute' little boy to playstation!

Leigh is likely to have asperger's and i have been told that this total and complete 'all or nothing' approach is common....but i feel so regretful!!!

So dare i say....hope it never ends for you!!

Dd1 always groans that she is tired and doesn't want to go to school. Dd2 is v quiet and just gets up saying "hello mummy". Ds1 gets up and says nothing for a few mins, but ds2 always says to me "open your eyes and smile", bless him

Metrobaby · 18/06/2004 12:15

much sympathies Dino and carlyb re Thomas. I thouught having a dd would make me immune to the delights of thomas but no, dd is mad about them too. I hate thomas i really do. They have spooky eerie faces IMHO. I need to join your support group

lou33 · 18/06/2004 12:17

I hate Thomas, Barney, Bob, Balamory, Tweenies, Tellytubbies.......

gloworm · 18/06/2004 12:19

coincidence...ds(age 2) is watching the dreaded Thomas at this very moment...at least it gives me a few more mins on MN

first words this morning were "come on, its time to get up" at 7am!
