High Functioning ASD but potential ADHD as well

Hi, my DS 7 years old was diagnosed as High Functioning ASD since he was 2.5 years old. Currently attends mainstream with ABA shadow.
He is performing pretty well at school.
However we noticed that attention spam has somehow decreased, he cannot sit still in class etc.
The ABA shadows suggested that we undergo the tests for ADHD.
Any of you have had same issues?
Can you recommend a good private Consultant for diagnosis.

Ds's paed explained to us that in DC with ASD anxiety and sensory issues must be looked at, as they can present very like ADHD.

zzzzz - ABA shadows are both very experienced and have experience of ADHD. This was also suggested by the SLT who works with my DS.

Diagnosis was done by Helen Westley and it was High Functioning Autism.
yes we are based in UK; DS attends a mainstream school with ABA shadows.

We also do OT weekly - to address sensory issues - but recently his stims have increased and less attention

Cloudperson - I agree with you; might be the case but thought it would be best to meet a specialist and move on from there.

Do you think certain food might have an effect too??

PolterGoose- yes he joined year 3 in Sept

If he's shifted to year 3 the chances are the sensory environment is a lot different which may be having an affect. The stimming is often attributed to sensory inputs.

Do they have different flooring? Do pupils move around the classroom a lot more? Do they have music playing, more computer screens, more chatter as less carpet time?

My Ds had a difficult time at end of year 3 and year 4 and I was told it's the time children move on to realising there's a world outside themselves (which Ds didn't!) and so the communication with peers becomes more difficult which in turn can increase anxiety.
