HI,

Ive started a new thread as I didnt want to highjack other regarding statementing.....I work with many kids who have statemenst however Im wondering how it will apply to my ds.

He is only 15 months so its a way off yet.

He is likely to be severely affected by his condition, possibly to the extent whereby he wont learn to walk or talk, I was wondering whether children who are affected this severly by their condition require statements.?Do all children with specific special needs require a statement?? I know im being really ignorant here but I just dont know anything about it.

TIA

its never to early to start the statement process. my son got his when he was 29months.

I think your son would get a statement simply because he will need extra help and support whilst in school. you could discuss the process with your HV. she will hopefully be able to give you some more info with regards to your local LEA.

i have always been told that with statements the rule is...the sooner the better.
