Hiya

DS3 is regressing again, and I need advice on how to handle it,.

Its eems to be in response to any pressure. Since the Ed Psych saw him, he hasn't been allowed nappies and I have been spending time each day on 1 on 1 sharing etc type activities, and he just doesn't seem able to handle it.

What do I do please> Should I keep going- I can't just leave him without intervention can I? Or would be better off left to develop at his own rate?

Peachy - DS2 (4) used to be hopeless under pressure, to the extent that he would refuse to join in any adult initiated task or game at all. Since we've started the Growing Minds programme he's been much better. I think it's because it intersperses the more formal structured activities (ABA discrete trials at a table) with lots of play, especially following his lead. I also give him a bit (OK, a lot) of chill out time in front of the video. He is still averse to any type of situation where he thinks he's being 'tested' though.
Makes for fun at BIBIC! (next week).

Maybe the nappy thing is stressing him out? If so, he may not be able to concentrate on anything else. If this was DS2, I would just focus on the things he enjoys (singing, physical play) and leave stuff that he can't handle atm. Or, maybe just do really short periods of 1 on 1 activities with big rewards at the end?

Poor you though - I hate it when we get regression. Makes me feel so hopeless. But if your DS3 is anything like DS2, a progression will be along soon. Bl**dy hell, I sound like Pollyanna

DS3 loves music etc so maybe a focus on that will help, thanks.

We have our BIBIC interview today (DS1 already goes, I did work experience there myself aeons ago LOL!).

Thanks for the advice

Meant to say Peachy that we've chosen schools in Street for DS1 and DS2. Moving to Somerset (my mum's) in April while we look for a house. So may see you around!
