Lunch time supervision 5yr old (asd)

The new HT has taken away Ds’ 1:1 support and with it his lunchtime supervision. He is verbal but is unable to communicate with children and is very aimless if undirected – still on a reduced timetable after 1 year. We have an EHCP appeal in January; in the meantime what is the minimum supervision at lunchtime that I should be able to request, if any (meeting with HT coming up)? Can anyone share the level of supervision that their children have at lunchtime?
Thanks

Ds 4 has asd and an ehcp and had full time 1 to 1 support for lunchtime at preschool.

OK thanks for info. It doesn't seem acceptable that he has to just fend for himself.

Ds has no EHCP and had lunch club at primary and Sen base at seniors.

I would expect the minimum to be what's required for your Ds. If that's 1:1 that's what should be provided.

Maybe worth going in with some suggestions of your own about alternatives - eg a lunch club for vulnerable children.
