Dla and Ctc

I have recently found out my 13 year old daughter has Asperger's. I was told to apply for DLA which I have done, but am now wondering if I should apply for CTC as well. I'm only expecting to receive the lower rate dla. Do you have to be in receipt of DLA to qualify for ctc? I do voluntary work and my husband works full time, approx. 40-45 hrs. p/w. Thanks for any help, x.

You should definitely apply if you get DLA, who knows what you could be entitled too. There is a disability element of tax credits that you might get.

Good luck Flowers

If you enter your details (anonymously) into entitledto.com if will tell you which benefits and how much you will be able to claim. You can play around with the dla figures hypothetically if you don't know which rate you'll be on yet.

Also, the cerebra dla guide on the cerebra website is very useful when completing the dla forms for future reference.
