Just received a call from the housing association, the house is ours!!!!

Oh im sooooooooooooo excited, no more carrying dd up 2 flights of stairs for a bath no more us walking 2 flights of stairs for a bath/shower/toilet.

Its really really lovely, the lady from the HA said they have only just bought it from a private owner and did i know that its on a very nice newish housing development.

Erm YES we,ve been to see it a few times!!!!

Just got to sort out with our psych whats the best way to prepare the kids now cos thats going to be a big hurdle, especially with dd as she doesnt understand a lot of language, DS we can sort of get around that with the promise of a spongebob themed bedroom!!!!

Jenk, you sound sooo excited! Have uyou been waiting long?

QueenEagle · 19/01/2007 11:19

ds3 has been awarded middle rate dla, found out a couple of days ago. (believed to be asd)

p.s. when do you move?

MegaLegs · 19/01/2007 11:19

Good news - so pleased for you

jenk1 · 19/01/2007 14:04

hello, just been and had another look!!!

no its not a bungalow, its a semi detached with a GARDEN

its lovely, a big drive and a large front garden perfect for dd to push her pram and wig around (believe me she wont push a doll she pushes my blond wig around in a pram!!!)

but i am hoping that they will agree to build us a downstairs loo and shower room, but thats my next battle, dd can get up the stairs albeit very slowly but she will need downstairs facilities especially when she comes out of nappies.

we,ve been waiting about 6 months for this, we are so chuffed.

DS though, isnt and his friends have been getting upset, but its only a 5 minute walk and they can come for tea.

that's great news

p.s. DS3 wouldn't dream of pushing round a doll or a teddy, he pushes a load of bricks around in his pushchair

Excellent news Jenk and i hope yourself and family will be happy in your new home!

Davros · 20/01/2007 18:38

HOORAY!!!

jenk1 · 20/01/2007 20:39

heard back from our psych yesterday,he said to firstly take DD on a drive past and just casually say "DD,s new house" so we did that yesterday and this afternoon we did it again and we took a picture.

Just showed it to her and she said "R,s new house".

He said to big it up like , when R goes to new house there will be ....we have decided to buy her a swing and a slide for the garden and have been looking through the Argos catalog.

Then we,ve got to leave pictures of the house around this house and casually refer to it and next week we will get out of the car and show her the garden and take it from there.

hopefully it should all go ok although DS had a meltdown today because he didnt think his spongebob posters would come off the wall, i told him if they dont then ill buy new ones exactly the same but no, thats not good enough....oh well 1 step at a time
