DLA

We applied for DLA for my son age 6 who has just been diagnosed with ASD.

They recieved the application 2 weeks ago.

Today we got a payment of £76.90 into our bank account but no letter.

The total appears to be Low rate care and middle rate mobility.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

It would mean SO much to us to get this money but I don't want to get my hopes up as we've had such a terrible time recently.

Thank you very much for your reply. I got confused it's appears to be the amount for low rate mobility and middle rate care.

So do you think that's what it will the weekly payment then?

Sorry for the questions but it's all so new to me and I'm still reeling to be honest.

Thank you. I don't think I can get carers as although I only work 2 days a week I earn too much. We are not entitled to Tax credits either.

Thank you for your advice poltergoose - we got the letter today so all sorted. I'm shocked at what we've got to be honest (not that he doesn't need it ) as its been so easy - I thought we would have to appeal - perhaps I shouldn't believe all I read in the papers or perhaps I'm just so used to dealing with him and all that entails to keeping him calm and happy that it's "normal" to us.

It was only 7 days from receipt of application to the award. I suppose we have evidence dating back to his 2nd birthday so lots but I was still expecting a fight. A relief to be honest that it's been so easy - the last 4 years have been anything but. Thanks again
