for those who don't know me, i have 3 kids with autism 12, 12 & 9 my hubby (AS) has been poorly for a while and they think it might be MS he is awaiting tests, but he has been really poorly since friday severe headache vomiting and total confused, he spent fri & sat in hospital, because of the kids i couldn't go with him or vist him, dr decided it was migraine and sent him home saturday, since then he seems to have got rid of the headache but is even more confused he doesn't know what month it is and was aurguing with DD1 about what day it was!
i have not been out the house since friday as not able to leave him he keeps turning the hob on and other stuff, of course the kids are oblivious to all my stress / upset they are more concerned with what time lazy town is on!
hubby has gone back in hospital, dr wants an urgent brain scan he is worried about brain tumour & want to rule this out, course i am here on my own worrying about him and have 3 kids who are so focused on there ocd, it's heartbreaking really, i don't expect any replies as such just venting really.

oh goodness, you have your hands full. do you get any respite? are the kids all at school ok? can you scream out in the garden now?

onlyjoking9329 · 10/01/2007 21:00

it has been a nightmare to sort out school runs have been getting people to help out with school pick ups and drop offs, no respite, just DP's but they can only do school hols, SW is coming in the morning they have a local family who do short breaks the lady works at SN school so should be asd ok!. this has really made me realize we need some back ups.

you do need some back up. why only school holidays? is thjere a SN after school club they can go to?

onlyjoking9329 · 10/01/2007 21:05

no after school clubs, the workers that i use both work in SN and are at work full time, things should be a bit better now he has gone into hospital cos i don't have to be with him 24/7, i have had very little sleep since thursday as he was getting up in the night emptying the wardrobes looking for stuff that he can't find, waking the kids up too, so i am looking forward to having a sleep tonight

Is there anything any of us can do to help? You must be about ready to climb the walls by now.

onlyjoking9329 · 10/01/2007 21:16

no i just wanted to vent really, autism just gets to me sometimes, picture me sat there in tears all 3 kids didn't notice one talking away about lego star wars, another on about lazy town, and the other wanting to wear a tshirt at the bottom of the ironing pile and i just don't wanna have to bother really.

Will you have to wait long for the scan results? Fingers crossed for you that Mr OJ gets the all-clear.

PeachyClair · 10/01/2007 21:24

Oh onlujoking I am so sorry! If there IS anything we can do to help you will let us know won't you? and let us know how dh is.

onlyjoking9329 · 10/01/2007 21:29

thanks folks, we have had difficult times before & we will get throu them, it's just the autism thing does kinda put a different spin on things, suppose in some ways it is a blessing that they are not worrying about their dad.

PeachyClair · 10/01/2007 21:57

Its awful though isn't it? Dh had similar health issues recently (turned out to be insomnia, though he's not 100% even on the strongest most addictive meds they could find). That's when you notice the empathy isn't it?

If there is anything- even if its just sending a pile of magazines or obsessional stuff to keep the klids occupied, do say

oh don't tidy up. Glad you have some contact with the hospital today- it does sound as if its been building up a while and you need help now.

will check the other place later to see how you got on.

emmalou78 · 11/01/2007 14:21

OJ, hope everythings as OK as it can be, and that your husband has had his scans and the results are giving everyone a clearer picture of whats going on in there.

I hope you get some rest, I know its not going to get any easier, but sleep can do you the power of good nad you've barely had any for a week.

Hope the SW has been able to get you some much needed help.or on teh road to getting it.

RnBee · 11/01/2007 17:17
