My son is 7, asd behavioural and anxiety difficulties. He was placed in a PRU attached to a school for children with bsed. He has come on so well he is so happy here, I was told he was under assessment.
The ehcp has come through as a draft and he has been awarded maximum support, he's been assessed in the PRU and they have said mainstream is not suitable.
Tricky part, they have no space in their school for him at the minute he is in an assessment place all their school places are full, all other local provision is full and mainstream is not an option. Out of borough he would be transported 1hr plus each day which for me is unsuitable he can't travel that far he wouldn't cope he is sick after 30minutes in a car and he is on regular antibiotics for recurring infections which give him a bad stomach.
What can I do, he has no school named on his ehcp but that is the next step but I wanted him to stay put where he is, he's finally happy and he's having it ripped away. The other provisions in our borough us 2 asd units which are full but they access mainstream lessons which mine wouldn't cope with and a NAS school which is full
Any advice appreciated x
