hello - have been reading about Benik Vests (special vest which helps support children with low muscle tone in their torso). Has anybody here any knowledge / experience of them? Ta muchly

Are they like the lycra-type suits for support?

Ta for yr reply. That sort of thing, aye. Know they can either be velcro'd or zipped on. They kind of look like those old fashioned swimming float vest thingies. Seem to be used a fair bit in US and lots of good feedback there. Sound great - like so many things do though. Wondered if anyone used here??

Many of the kids in my daughters class have what I believe is called second skin! Its a lycra suit, it can come in a one piece or 2, with long or short sleeve and legs. For some of the children they have made a big difference. Most of the kids got their from yokhill hospital, but dont quote me on that ...i can find out for you......

Have you asked your physio for advice? I know some children here who have the lycra suits & they appear to help. My DD's physio suggested lycra leggings for her but we didn't get on with them at all as DD hated being fitted into them.
