hi
so so happy- yesterday my ds2 b(High functioning autism) went to toilet for first time ever- spurred on by his little sister toilet training and bribery of a new thomas train!!!! he is 4, and very resistant to change which i think was quite a big barrier for him. so proud, cant wait to see his playgroup teachers faces next week! was really worried he would still be in nappies when he started school in sept and PACTS (parents of Autistic teaching and support) helper thought he could be 7 or 8 when he finally 'got it' !!!

thanks! and good luck sphil! its been better/ easier thus far than i had thought- i think he just had some kind of mental block about it- he kept wittering on about how he'd do it when he was a 'big boy' til i pointed out to him last week that his little sister was doing it and shes much smaller than him (23 months). a bit of rivalry always helps! though we havent got so far as a 'proper' poo in the toilet yet.... will prob be back on here in a week wanting advice for a v constipated boy who's holding it all in!!!
