Hi
Just recieved our draft ehcp/statement looks like we are definitely heading for tribunal. I'm looking for a good solicitor and I have heard 2 names mentioned: melinda nettleton and Chris Barnett. I am leaning towards using Chris but was wondering if anyone had recently taken there lea to tribunal specifically to get Aba paid for by local authority. We are currently running a program of 30 hours a week. I would be particularly keen to hear from anyone who has taken Wokingham lea to tribunal and the solicitor they used.
Thanks

Maybe this is a bit late for you, but I look regularly at these two:

  1. www.legal500.com/c/london/public-sector/education-individuals - I don't know why this now only has the top 2 ranks. I am sure, it used to do solicitors in ranks 3 and 4?
  1. www.chambersandpartners.com/11805/22/editorial/1/1

Eleanor Wright is no longer at Maxwell Gillott - she went to work for SOS!SEN. As you know, Chris Barnett is no longer at Levenes - he went to Match.

A key question to always ask any professional is "how much is your charge out rate?"

Unfortunately, I have never heard of anyone taking Wokingham LEA to the Tribunal, so can't help you there! The ones I have tended to hear most about are Hertfordshire, Surrey, Kent, Essex and Hampshire!

Hi Peach197845, did you choose either Melinda Nettleton or Chris Barnett after all? If so how did you get on? I’m also toying with these two and not sure which will be more reliable?

I'd go for Chris Barnett every time out of those two. I think Match has now become part of Sinclairs. But also have a look at Simpson Millar.
