Anyone recommend moisturiser for sensitive skin for ds with ASD??

Ds1 has ASD and sensory sensitivities etc and big problems with clothes. Iv noticed his skin is quite dry lately and thinking this won't help the clothes irritating him. He used to have ezcema as a baby but this is just generally dry, no sores etc. most cream seems to give him a rash and make the situation worse. Oilatum is the latest Iv tried and the worse! It has to be a cream that sinks straight in as he hates the feel. Any suggestions?? Can't get him out the house at the moment to get to doctors so needs to be something from boots etc??

If it's 'just' dry try Egyptian Magic- coconut oil/olive concoction.

Or even just coconut oil which is cheap as chips over the counter in boots

I think 'just' dry. Do you mean as in no ezcema? I'm pretty sure it is just dry, no sores or red areas?

Coconut oil, do you mean the stuff that's in like a block? Or can you get just the actual liquid?

Aveeno cream, is fab stuff and can be used on sore skin as well!

When Iv looked (in passing) there seems a lot of different aveeno, bottles etc, are they all the same?

Coconut oil is solid at room temp - melts at skin temp. Is a great moisturiser.

Aveeno green label here too! Hardly any smell and even Dd3 who hates any kind of cream will permit it on her legs!!

Yes, aveeno, it's the only thing I've found that I don't react to, and it rubs in well so you don't constantly feel it on your skin.
Coconut oil brings me out in bumps then makes my skin go drier plus it feels greasy and bleurgh!

I have had dry skin alternating with eczema my whole life. I have been through most moisturisers from GP and found that they never worked for me. I discovered the Vaseline intensive rescue range about 2 years ago and never looked back. It has done wonders for my skin, without the greasiness that most moisturisers give, leaving my skin soft and moist. I have tried this on my daughter who has dry skin/eczema (she has sensory issues too). At first she cried cause it was a massive change for her. Now she is asking for more! So definately recommend this

Aveeno did the same he was fine with texture and sunk in quick, his skin feels lovely but about half hour later his back was itching him. I don't understand it. Rest of his body is fine??

I have also tried the Vaseline in the white bottle.

Oh yes Polter I've realised that Egyptian Magic is indeed beeswax and olive oil, not coconut oil.
