ASD Help in Harrogate - Primary schools and agencies to approach for help

Hello All,

My sister has 3.5 YO DS twins in Harrogate. They are currently being assessed for possible ASD. She is also applying for an EHCP and for school reception places (deadline next week...). To say she is on her knees would go part way to giving you the picture...... I am a concerned auntie trying to help. I would love to hear from anyone who can offer advice or support about local agencies and about negotiating the processes, locally. Advice re: the local primary schools from experienced parents would be so so helpful. I would especially love to find an experienced therapist who can go to their home to help teach her how to deal with some of the behavioural problems she is experiencing - as we cannot guarantee she will get the diagnosis and therefore the help they all badly need. I know she would be over the moon to hear from parents with similar aged kids who might be up for a coffee, or day I say, a playdate. I have spoken to Autism Cares and have registered her with Child Autism UK. I am waiting a call back from Parents Together. I would be so grateful for any advice or support anyone can suggest.
