Is ABA really any good?

Hello,

I am just enquiring about ABA and services, does any one know where I should start to look?

Thank you

Do a search on here. There have been multiple threads over the 10 years I've been around, some quite lengthy but almost all full of detail.

FWIW, ABA done well is, imo, absolutely worthwhile. My dd would not be where she is today without it.

Yes. A million times, yes, in my opinion and experience with my 3yo DS with ASD. We started ABA about four months ago, doing around 18-20 hours a week, plus some mainstream pre school with support sessions.

He scored significantly in the ASD assessments before we started, and had zero language.

Now he is matching, sorting, has good receptive commands, uses PECS really well, has emerging spoken language, does peg board and jigsaw puzzles, and is (more importantly than any of that) so much happier, confident and content.

We found our ABA consultant through a recommendation, and then recruited tutors.
