Christmas meltdown

Arrrrggghhh my 2 year old who has Autism has been in full on meltdown since the Christmas decorations went up. He normally bang on 7pm walks to bed goes to sleep and we don't hear him till 6pm. He's generally quite and happy during the day. Since the Christmas changes with decorations have happened he refusing to go to bed screaming constantly and hitting everyone. I can't just simply take all the decorations away as I have 2 other dc's any one got any ideas?

Well it is a little on the early side to have them up.

2 possible explanations, both of which might be the case:

You've changed his environment. For a lot of kids with ASD, that's not cool. It can be quite unsettling when what was familiar now looks wrong.

The decorations are too visually stimulating. Lots of sparkle and flashing lights. Soothing for some kids with ASD, but like giving red bull to others.

No flashing lights it's the change I know that. I have always put them up on the first when it's advent calendar my eldest is 11 and has ASD and is in this routine this is the first year my 2 year old is fully aware and obviously he really hates change

I know familiarity is important have moved my tree to kitchen. Don't trust eldest to decorate his room. It's hard as I need to think of both and they both have the own was routines and what they don't like changing. We are a house of 5 with 4 being on the spectrum and the 5th being a baby. Sometimes it's hard to juggle all the sn and make everyone happy. Thanks for both your replies though and sorry if I sound off stressful night.
