I thought the school in Hampshire sounded very interesting, if only ds2 could go to school somewhere like that.

Belated thanks for this link. The programme was fascinating. I wish there were loads of schools around like the one featured, I am having a lovely fantasy now about winning the lottery and moving down to rural bliss in Hampshire ....

i listened and cryed.

i found the whole programme covered the spectrum so well.... and as usual all i could think was "why doesn't any of our teachers etc ever listen to things like this!!!!?!!!"

i loved the bit where a lad was stateing quite clearly that he saw no advantage being in mainstream school as when someone poked him with a pencil...he couldn't poke them back as he'd lose his gamecube in his room.....
and the bit where a professional critiscised the diagnostic methods...and pointed out how if a child is well supported they may not show the sighns as severely as they may have done if otherwise supported....for once giving us all a pat on the back for all we do to help our children have a better life....

Exactly Mrs F.

Is it just us single mums on here 2night??? Kids in bed, me with a lovely glass of pinot grigeo....

caroline3 · 09/12/2006 22:34

Sorry Mrs F. that should be "honorary" single parent in yr case.

How is yr dh getting on now??

MrsForgetful · 11/12/2006 09:09

LOL at the single parent!!!!

DH is no better...no worse!!!! Just feeling fed up cos he's always gone christmas shopping on christmas eve....he's mad!!!!....and this year he can only manage maybe an hour or so of using his crutches...he still cannot put any weight at all on his plastered leg....so though he's fine using the crutches etc....and its not that he cannot get around....but he only has to knock his foot and he is in agony...and filthy looks to anyone who knocks into him.

i must admit that we keep getting in a tangle as well....apparently i get in his way when we are shopping!!! As if.....!!! I cannot help it if he can't hobble in a straight line!!!!
