I'm about to ask my go for an assessment for ds.
What will they do? Will it be a referral to camhs? (who have proved useless in the past)

Thanks

We went to hospital we meet the peadiatrition where we went through the school reports and the questionnaire we did while ds ripped her room apart and attempted to 'fix' the sink. She laid out toys for him and things to do about the room and said just to leave him to it unless it was dangerous... So she could watch his behaviour and how we interact with him.

He was DX with moderate to severe ADHD. No more help was offered as we didn't want to go down the medication route. We were given an appointment in 6 months... That's it

I got even less support when his twin was DX with ASD & aspergers

Cahms are 'very busy' I tried to make a few telephone appointments but all have been cancelled and I was referred back to gp ( who referred me to cahms in the first place because I went to him to say I wasn't coping with them)

i did leave with a smile though... Oh no he can't break anything in here.... I am guessing the plumber came after we left :-)

So without medicine, how can you help him? What other options are there? I want to be as well informed as possible before I speak to anyone.
